If you love BBQ, this is the place for you. Tge staff is very attentive and ready to help. The me u is a good size without being overwhelming. There plenty of seats to enjoy your food at. There is even a pie kitchen. It wasn't open while I was there, but there were plenty of pies available at the counter.
What stands out the most is that their meat actually has flavor! My family has loved this chain for decades, and as we’ve gone around the country and tried other BBQ we’ve realized that Big Jake’s is our go-to. Other restaurants focus on their sauce to add flavor and moisture to the meat, while Big Jake’s meat is honestly good by itself. Speaking of sauces, you can’t go wrong with any of them. Each has their own selling point but they are all excellent. The complimentary beans are also great!
Stopped in on our way from Chicago to Dallas. Couldn’t resist trying some Texarkana BBQ. Hands down the best brisket I have ever had. Moist and flavorful, didn’t even need sauce. But I did try their sauce and had to buy some extra to take back to Chicago! Friendly staff and tons of seating.
This is our 4th time at Big Jake's BBQ and every time we stop by we are never disappointed. We are from Houston and we plan our road trips with Big Jake's BBQ as a must-stop. The fired pies are absolutely amazing!
First time here, got a large plate with brisket, pulled pork and sausage. Got green beans and mac-n-cheese. Toast came with it as well. It was some great BBQ. If you try it you'll like it too.
The fried okra is the best we ever had. You also get free beans with your meal! They were delicious. The staff were super helpful, so nice. We ordered the family meal for 3/4. It was more than enough for the 4 of us
Food was good and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly. I like the free Pinto beans when you eat in. The meats were all very good not overly smoked or dry. They have a few different bbq sauces to choose from.
